Day in casualty ends tour of hospital

8.12.29pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 11th Dec 2006

Derby councillor Wendy Harbon had to cancel a tour of a city hospital because she spent the day in casualty following a car crash.

Miss Harbon (pictured) and her fiance, David Hughes, had planned to enjoy a tour of the King's Treatment Centre, at the Derby City General Hospital site, on Thursday.

But their Renault Kangoo was involved in an accident with a van as they arrived at the site at about 9.30am.

Both suffered minor injuries to their necks and were taken by ambulance to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. They were released late in the afternoon.
