A disabled man with severe arthritis has been robbed in a public toilet at Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset.

He parked his mobility carriage outside the lavatory on the esplanade on Wednesday morning and went inside carrying a camera bag.

A man came up behind him and pulled the bag off his arm, escaping with cash, cards, a camera and mobile phone.

Police said the victim was left shaken and upset. Officers are examining CCTV footage of the scene.

The robber is about 5ft 9in tall with a skinny build. He was wearing a grey hooded top with a dark scarf across his mouth.
