Norman Lamb MP, Lib Dem Treasury Select Committee Member

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary

Responding to the news that the Government is considering personal NHS budgets, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb said:

NHS

"The debate over personal care budgets for chronic conditions has gone on for a long time. Personal care budgets have been a success in social care, and could be the same in the NHS when dealing with long-term conditions.

"But the Government must get on with giving patients and their families control, rather than endlessly talking about it."
