Office for Disabled Issues Welcomed - Danny Alexander MP

Commenting on the launch of the Office for Disability Issues,

Liberal Democrat Disabilities Spokesperson, Danny Alexander MP said:

"The launch of the Office for Disability Issues is very welcome.

This is a step closer to removing the barriers to opportunities and

life choices that people with disabilities face.

"The new Ministerial steering group for disabilities will, I hope,

drive forward the action required by Government to make independent living a reality for those with disabilities. But with no

representative from the Treasury there is a danger that fiscal

disincentives prevent businesses and service providers improving

accessibility."
