Labour MP, Peter Hain, has called on disability benefit assessment firm Capita and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to "urgently reform" its "punitive" assessment process, which is "causing no end of misery" to sick and disabled claimants, before it descends into similar "problems experienced with ATOS and the Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) assessments".

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Carers Trust have launched a guide they have jointly developed to improving dementia care entitled the 'Triangle of Care' at an event in Parliament. Local MP, Mark Hunter, attended the launch to meet with one of his constituents, retired consultant Mr Peter Dunlop from Cheadle Hulme, who spoke at the event.
