IAIN Duncan Smith is being called upon by the SNP to "go back to the drawing board and start again" after a court ruling, which found that including the allowance given to carers in the UK Government's benefit cap discriminated indirectly against disabled people.
The Government would like to make it even harder for those who want to claim PIP. PIP has replaced DLA and people claiming DLA are now being shifted over to PIP. If you have received your notification of change then you must apply for PIP within the 4 weeks stated. If you don't your money will stop.
The Equality Act 2010 makes it unlawful to discriminate against employees (including workers) because of a mental or physical disability.
This consultation closes at 29 January 2016 5:00pm
I'm Sam, I'm 25 and I live on the Isle of Wight with my Nan. Today I spoke at Parliament, which is where MPs meet to make important decisions that can impact people's life. I shared my fears over changes to benefits and told politicians how I might be affected if they are cut. I was there for a discussion called a Parliamentary review. The discussion was about the planned cut of £30 a week from Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) for those in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG). The review was led by independent Peers in the House of Lords - Lord Low of Dalston, Baroness Meacher and Baroness Grey-Thompson, it was supported by Mencap and other charities.
